Farmhouse Mason Jars Traditional Piecing Workshop
Are you new to quilting or just started? Or you’ve made some simple quilts and now you are ready to make something fun quilt using an easy method? In this class, I will walk you through the process of making the quilt block with traditional piecing using Farmhouse Mason Jars quilt pattern. You will learn how to cut the fabric, sew the cut pieces together, press seams, and also how to sew the 45 degree angle corners using the corner square triangle method (CST). By project completion, you will be confident with the traditional piecing and using CST method!
3-hour workshop
Student skill level: Beginner
Required supplies that students need to bring:
- Farmhouse Mason Jars quilt pattern
- Fabrics to make a table runner (Finished size: 16" x 39")
- Fabric 1: (2) 1/8 yard for the hearts
- Fabric 2: (1) 1/8 yard for the strings
- Fabric 3: (1) 1/4 yard for the burlap
- Fabric 4: (1) 1/4 yard for the jars
- Fabric 5: (1) 1/2 yard for the background
- Rotary cutter and cutting mat
- Rectangle quilting ruler (6" x 12" or 6 1/2" x 12 1/2")
- Pins
- Scissors for fabric
- Sewing machine
- 1/4" patchwork foot for the sewing machine
- Iron and ironing board (for the online workshop)
Classroom needs (prepare by quilt shop):
- Irons and ironing boards
- A table (or two) for me to place my sewing machine and the materials for demo.
- Design board to display the sample blocks if possible.
